Cycle 5 introduces Ursule and Rozenn while normally paying off the choice you made for the Kutnar Nomads. County investigations, delayed recruitments, death announcements, carried Goose quests, and a replay-only Serpent Knight can all join them. Villador’s 17 random grievances are now active, and a Courier visit missed in Cycle 4 can retry here.

Spoiler warning: This guide covers all 225 distinct labels in scheduled, delayed, replay, intervention, and optional scenes; all 332 labels in the complete random pool; and every result for the 17 quests newly unlockable during Cycle 5.

Return to the Cycle 4 walkthrough

  1. Hear Ursule first and recruit her if you want another Knight for this Round Table. She likes Audacious-gated answers and dislikes Wise-gated answers, so recruiting her early also enables those hidden relationship reactions during later Cycle 5 audiences.
  2. Resolve the Kutnar Nomad follow-up when it survives scheduling. The scene is fixed by the refuge or forest choice from Cycle 4, and both versions contain a severe authority response alongside a calmer answer.
  3. Hear Rozenn before choosing assignments. Both investigations advance the county, but they test different statistics and lead to different Cycle 6 follow-ups.
  4. Resolve every county result and delayed recruitment card. Shared-character scheduling can move a second callback or county representative farther forward, so the visible order is not proof that a route disappeared.
  5. Take any random grievance before locking the Round Table. Villador has joined the old starting, Clovermont, and Grest pools; Rozenn’s own pool unlocks during this cycle but cannot be drawn until Cycle 6.
  6. If the Courier was blocked in Cycle 4 by more than ten open quests, reduce the list before the audience phase ends. His cooldown remains ready and the same three Act 1 bundles can retry.
  7. Use the afternoon for repairs, one Intendancy investigation and result, Map Room callbacks, and eligible affinity scenes. A newly recruited Knight is normally available for quests but not a same-cycle free-time scene; Angelica is the code exception.
  8. Assign deadline quests before ordinary contracts, then advance through every result and level-up panel until the first Cycle 6 Tower View appears.

Cycle 5 Audience Assembly

The two native Cycle 5 cards are Ursule’s candidacy and Rozenn’s first grievance. Cycle 4 also schedules one of two Nomad follow-ups, but the follow-up is rejected or removed if its Knight participant has died: the Tower route uses Gwendan and the forest route uses Angelica. Most forward routes therefore start with three direct scenes, while a compatible death route can start with two.

Guaranteed and delayed morning scenesRandom audience result
2Adds exactly 2 random grievances.
3Adds 1 or 2 random grievances.
4Adds exactly 1 random grievance.
5 or moreAdds no random grievance.

The direct list can range from 2 to 12 resources. After random filling and removal of the forced Dragon Knight major audience, the morning presents 3-11 selectable cards. A compatible 12-resource route combines the two native scenes, one surviving Nomad route, both reconciled county results, one held blacksmith result, Gwendan’s and Goberto’s death announcements, one Chester route, one Gavault recruit callback, the Dragon Knight request, and the replay-only Serpent Knight. These are tightly constrained: Angelica/Gwendan scenes share two character slots, Goberto and Dulahan share one forward route, Chester routes cannot stack, and Brunhilda and Tarcus are mutually exclusive.

The random-definition superset now contains 98 cards: 49 starting cards, 16 Clovermont cards, 16 Grest cards, and 17 Villador cards. Depending on the two previous cycles, zero through three cards have already been consumed, so the strict live pool contains 95-98 cards before the Cycle 5 draw. The appendix shows the complete superset because each earlier grievance can survive on a different route or return after a rewind restores an earlier pool snapshot.

Conditional Card Checklist

Earlier statePossible Cycle 5 addition
The welcomed Nomads still have living Gwendan, or the rejected Nomads still have living AngelicaThe corresponding Tower-refuge or cold-forest consequence. A dead required Knight removes it.
A Cycle 3 county quest was assigned late, or a Cycle 4 county continuation finishedThe corresponding next county scene. Reconciled failures still cannot create the opposite-county fallback.
Angelica, Gwendan, Goberto, Chester, Dulahan, Brunhilda, or Tarcus was postponed or dismissed and the available callback request was sent during Cycle 4That Knight’s next return, unless a shared-character conflict pushes it farther forward.
A carried Goose quest or Goose Part Two finished during Cycle 4One Chester result or candidacy scene. Chester-character routes cannot stack in the same cycle.
A carried Broken Relic or shortened Striking Scholars quest resolvesIts choice-free or choice-bearing result audience, when its character slot remains available.
Goberto died in Cycle 3Dulahan’s candidacy arrives after its two-cycle delay. A Cycle 4 Goberto death instead gives Berta now and delays Dulahan to Cycle 6.
Gwendan died in Cycle 3 or Cycle 4Gwendolen’s announcement can finally occupy Cycle 5 because Villador no longer holds her native slot.
Angelica died in Cycle 4Elioth brings her death announcement.
Angelica lost enough affinity from other Knight deathsHer low-affinity departure audience can appear; Gwendan and Goberto cannot reach the same threshold this early.
The Dragon Knight’s Map Room request was sent after the Cycle 4 ultimatumHis major follow-up counts during random filling, then is removed from the card row and played automatically.

Decision… What can I do for you?Dialogue only.
DecisionWe do have a lot of absurd requests. Welcome aboard.Recruits Ursule.
DecisionMight have some in a week.Keeps Ursula available to call back later.
DecisionNothing that would interest you.Dialogue only.

Recruitment adds Ursule to this cycle’s Round Table immediately. Might have some in a week. unlocks her Map Room callback; dismissing her ends the forward recruitment route. Her fresh statistics are Strength 3, Agility 4, Charisma 2, Magic 7, Wits 7, and Luck 0. She likes Relic Recovery, dislikes Diplomacy, likes Audacious Sovereign answers, and dislikes Wise ones.

Ursule’s unusual death-and-corruption mechanics do not alter this first conversation. They begin to matter after she has joined and died in later quest results; the assignment matrix preserves any Cycle 5 special that can already trigger.

Kutnar Nomad Consequence

Welcoming the Nomads in Cycle 4 schedules the Tower-refuge scene. Sending them away schedules the cold-forest scene. They are mutually exclusive in one timeline, and the chosen scene disappears if its required Knight has died before Cycle 5 filling.

The opening answer is conversational. The real branch is the final investigation: Ask the Mystics or Ask the Nobles. Only one is unlocked in a timeline. Rozenn’s random pack and Arlin’s kitchen conversation are enabled before that choice, but filling has already happened; Rozenn grievances begin in Cycle 6.

County Consequences

These scenes can be one stage apart between playthroughs. A county quest assigned immediately in Cycle 4 reaches its next audience now; a Cycle 3 investigation carried and assigned during Cycle 4 instead produces the earlier continuation now.

The Courier is not guaranteed to return immediately after a successful Cycle 4 visit: that visit reset his cooldown. If Cycle 4 skipped him because you held more than ten quests, however, the cooldown was not reset and Cycle 5 can retry the same three choice-free bundles.

The Dragon Knight request is different: sending it from the Map Room after his Cycle 4 ultimatum creates a forced major audience here. It counts when random grievances are selected, then leaves the card row and plays automatically. Its resulting ultimatum quest must be completed immediately; leaving it unassigned counts as failure when Cycle 6 begins.

Random Audience Appendix

Cycle 5 draws from the starting, Clovermont, Grest, and Villador pools. When available Knights outnumber open quests, one eligible quest-priority grievance is selected first. Remaining picks use corruption-weighted random selection, cannot reuse the same audience character, and are removed from the active pool after being drawn.

All 17 Villador cards use Gwendolen, so at most one can be selected in a cycle. Rozenn’s 13-card pool unlocks during Grelin’s audience and begins in Cycle 6, not here.

Afternoon and Optional Conversations

  • Intendancy: Start one unknown-rumor investigation and hear one queued result per Tower View visit.
  • Forge: Repair before county or high-damage contracts. The repair price still rises with repeated uses since the last Round Table.
  • Map Room: Send callbacks for any Knight you intentionally postponed. Paying schedules a later audience; it does not recruit immediately.
  • Free time: Special affinity scenes are added first and are not capped by the ordinary two-scene limit. Ordinary affinity scenes fill the remaining allowance; at most one eligible shared-Knight conversation can then use spare capacity.
  • Demon Power: Rewinding directly to the saved Cycle 5 morning restores that exact audience and filler state; it does not reroll Cycle 5. A rewind that lands in Cycle 4 can rebuild the upcoming Cycle 5 list and add Epicrates. Corruption, Omniscient progression, cumulative deaths, and other all-time milestones still persist.

Silver Feathers caution: its alternate version does not define a usable party-size or damage change. The tables treat those missing changes as zero, matching the quest system’s normal defaults; check the live preview before committing if this version appears.

Solo Baseline Assignment Matrix

This comparison uses each reachable Knight’s fresh starting statistics, no equipment, no meal, no level-up increase, and only the named Knight even when the quest requests a larger party. It includes the missing-party penalty, known and hidden traits, assignment affinity, stochastic trait branches, and special outcomes. Use the live Round Table preview for a developed roster.

Ursule’s extremely low Luck and strong Magic/Wits make her results especially uneven. Chester continues to reroll every requested statistic from 0 through 15. Gwendan’s In Debt funds loss, Angelica’s Fortunate tier shift, Brunhilda’s Idol reward, and Tarcus’s satisfaction-dependent traits remain route-dependent branches rather than guaranteed values.

Dragon Knight Live-Condition Matrix

The promise selected when you answer the summoned Dragon Knight installs one of three different four-condition packages. Each condition actually met when the quest resolves adds +2 score. Because this ultimatum uses live extra conditions, any final score at or below zero becomes a Critical Failure with lethal damage rather than an ordinary failure tier. The solo baseline table above shows zero conditions met; this table gives every 0-4 condition result, including Chester’s exact 65,536-roll distribution for each promise.

Ursule’s First Death Routes

Only Ursule’s None / 0 deaths state can exist during a legitimate Cycle 5 route. Rewinding does not overwrite that cycle’s pre-recruitment morning snapshot, so her Mid and High states belong to later cycles rather than alternate Cycle 5 assignments. Her first death is not permanent: it advances her hidden death counter to 1, removes her from the Round Table, cancels an already scheduled callback, and queues her Low-corruption return for Cycle 6. Only these fresh Cycle 5 solo assignments can kill her at baseline:

Cycle 6 Quest Consequences

A one-cycle assignment made now resolves during the transition into Cycle 6. A two-cycle assignment normally remains in progress for another round unless equipment or another duration reduction shortens it. Deadline-two quests can sit unassigned through this transition, but will automatically fail one transition later if you still ignore them.

Quest and versionCycle 6 or later consequence
Ask the Mystics
I will investigate the occultists.
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment resolves when Cycle 6 begins. On a normal success, Rozenn returns with a choice that unlocks one of two manuscript quests; a normal failure has no follow-up audience.
Ask the Nobles
I will investigate the nobles.
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment resolves when Cycle 6 begins. Neither the normal success nor failure schedules a follow-up audience; success awards a Wit Potion and improves Merchants satisfaction.
A Spider in a Cave
We shall claim the treasure from this spider!
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment resolves when Cycle 6 begins. The normal result has no follow-up audience. Gwendan’s reachable special result instead queues a dialogue-only callback and replaces the normal money reward with 45 funds.
Arrest of the Countess
… If it means the end of the revolt, I will help you.
I don’t know what came over me. Let’s set the county on fire instead.
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment resolves when Cycle 6 begins. If it is left unassigned, the two-cycle deadline drops to one when Cycle 6 begins and the quest automatically fails only when Cycle 7 begins. A normal success ends the daughter-side revolt, rallies Gavault, unlocks the Gavault Lion mount and an allied blacksmith conversation, and schedules Gavault’s introduction for the following cycle. Failure ends the Gavault route; its opposite-county fallback is normally filtered out because the shared confrontation has already happened.
Arrest of the princess
I’ll send someone to knock some sense into her.
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment resolves when Cycle 6 begins. If it is left unassigned, the two-cycle deadline drops to one when Cycle 6 begins and the quest automatically fails only when Cycle 7 begins. A normal success leads to the daughter-dead finale; Ursule’s reachable special instead leads to the daughter-alive finale. Either finale rallies Gavault, unlocks an allied blacksmith conversation, and schedules Gavault’s introduction for the following cycle; only the daughter-alive finale unlocks the Gavault Axe. Failure ends the Gavault route, and its opposite-county fallback is normally filtered out.
Princely Negotiations
I will send someone to negotiate with her.

If it is left unassigned, the two-cycle deadline drops to one when Cycle 6 begins and the quest automatically fails only when Cycle 7 begins. A normal success rallies Groveshire, unlocks Wolf Skin, and schedules Silgur’s candidacy plus the Beaconsbury and Belthorn introduction for the following cycle. Angelica’s reachable special keeps the Beast alive and offers the Wolf for immediate recruitment at the result, but skips Wolf Skin and Silgur’s candidacy. Failure ends the Groveshire route, and its opposite-county fallback is normally filtered out.

Black Trade’s End
I’ll have them arrested.
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment is still in progress during Cycle 6 and resolves when Cycle 7 begins; duration-reducing equipment can move the result earlier. Neither the normal success nor failure schedules a follow-up audience.
Black Trade’s End
I’ll have them executed.

Okay.
Of course. How could I refuse such a request? Very important.
Say no more. A knight is already on their way.
At baseline, a Cycle 5 assignment is still in progress during Cycle 6 and resolves when Cycle 7 begins; duration-reducing equipment can move the result earlier. Neither the normal success nor failure schedules a follow-up audience. Silgur’s special reward route is not reachable by the Cycle 5 Round Table.

Facing the Dragon Knight
Noble allies
A Cycle 5 assignment resolves when Cycle 6 begins. The one-cycle Ultimatum deadline also expires at that boundary, so leaving the quest unassigned immediately causes Critical Failure. Any successful result rallies Drakovic, clears the Ultimatum, unlocks the Dragon Sword, and offers Arron for recruitment, callback, or dismissal. Any failure, including deadline failure, triggers the Dragon Knight defeat scene and ends the run.

Cycle 5 End State

Cycle 5 ends only when the first Cycle 6 Tower View loads. Cycle 6 natively begins with Hildegard’s singing grievance, Grest’s emergency, and Milkford’s first grievance. Rozenn’s random pack is then active, while Cycle 5 quest results, county decisions, callbacks, deaths, and shared-character displacement can add further scenes.

What Can Join Cycle 6

  • Rozenn: Ask the Mystics produces a Cycle 6 follow-up only on normal success, offering one of two manuscript quests. Ask the Nobles and a failed Mystics investigation schedule no immediate audience.
  • Ursule: Sending her callback request after choosing Later schedules her return. If recruited Ursule dies on a Cycle 5 quest, her death removes that callback and instead schedules the Low-corruption return. Mid and High threshold returns begin only after later-cycle deaths.
  • Dragon Knight: His optional Cycle 5 request unlocks a one-cycle, one-cycle-deadline ultimatum quest. Victory, failure, or leaving it unassigned produces the corresponding forced major scene in Cycle 6; it is removed from the selectable card row and played automatically.
  • Counties: One-cycle Gavault and Groveshire investigations can add their next ruler, county ending, Silgur, or Wolf route. A final mother-and-daughter Gavault card played directly in Cycle 5 queues the Gavault location introduction for Cycle 6; if that final card is only created by a Cycle 5 quest result, it plays in Cycle 6 and the location introduction waits until Cycle 7. Unassigned deadline-two investigations merely tick down to one now and do not create a Cycle 6 card.
  • Grest and the Broken Relic: Gwendan’s special Scholars result can add its dialogue callback. Drawing the Grest Scholars grievance itself tries to schedule another Roland scene, but native Grest already owns Roland’s Cycle 6 slot and pushes it to Cycle 7. A newly drawn Broken Relic grievance schedules exactly one restored or unrestored result.
  • Chester and the Goose: If a delayed unexpected Goose Part One result is played now, its one-cycle Goose Part Two quest can still resolve before Cycle 6. Any matching Cheese, Equine, or unreformed-Gwendan special queues Chester’s candidacy; normal success or failure does not.
  • Callbacks and deaths: A newly opened Angelica, Goberto, Gwendan, Chester, Dulahan, Brunhilda, Tarcus, or Ursule callback can target Cycle 6. Angelica, Goberto, and Gwendan deaths add their normal announcements; Goberto also schedules Dulahan two slots later. Any death removes future audiences containing that Knight.
  • Other Villador and Courier quests: Their normal results do not schedule audience cards. Two-cycle Villador contracts remain in progress at baseline unless duration reduction shortens them.

When two additions use the same audience character, the later one moves to the first future cycle with a free slot. Native Roland therefore wins over Grest’s delayed Scholars scene, and an Ursule death return wins over her already scheduled callback.

For a stable forward route, recruit Ursule, choose the Rozenn investigation that best fits your healthy roster, finish expiring county work before optional contracts, and avoid carrying more than ten open quests if the Courier still owes you his first bundle. The most important planning decision is not a single dialogue answer: it is which deadline and follow-up chains you allow to compete for your available Knights.
