Cycle 4 opens with the Dragon Knight’s first real ultimatum. It also collects the widest set of delayed routes so far: county continuations, postponed recruits, Chester or Dulahan, death announcements, and the replay-only Serpent Knight can all alter the morning. Grest’s random audience pack is now active, and the Courier can deliver a bundle of three additional quests after the ordinary audience phase.

Spoiler warning: This guide covers all 156 distinct labels in the scheduled, conditional, replay, and new optional scenes; all 266 labels in the complete Cycle 4 random pool; and every outcome for 25 quests newly unlockable during this stage.

Return to the Cycle 3 walkthrough

  1. Resolve the Dragon Knight ultimatum first. It is forced before the selectable audience cards. Choose the future requirement set you actually plan to build toward; none of the three answers is flavor text.
  2. Take the Nomads before spending satisfaction elsewhere. Welcoming them is the kinder route and helps People at the expense of Nobles; refusing reverses that swing.
  3. Hear Villador and accept Bucolic Diplomacy. Assigning Gwendan produces its exceptional 150-fund, Nobles +2, 9-XP result with no damage.
  4. Resolve any county continuation. These choices determine the next investigations, which ruler gains ground, and which audience is scheduled for Cycle 5.
  5. Recruit a returning Knight before the Round Table if you want to use them immediately. Gwendan’s second postponement costs 1 affinity; the other Later choices open another 10-fund callback.
  6. Take any random audience before locking assignments. Cycle 4 can add one or two random grievances only when the direct list remains small.
  7. Keep the open quest list at ten or fewer if you want the Courier to appear. His first normal visit is choice-free but adds one random bundle of three quests.
  8. Repair armor, collect an Intendancy rumor, and play optional conversations before the Round Table. Then assign urgent county and carried deadline quests first.
  9. Advance through every result and level-up panel until the first Cycle 5 Tower View appears; the transition still has no fixed click count.

Cycle 4 Audience Assembly

The three guaranteed morning scenes are the Dragon Knight ultimatum, the Kutnar Nomads, and Villador. The Dragon Knight still counts when random audiences are added, even though his scene is then removed from the card row and played automatically first.

Guaranteed and delayed morning scenesRandom audience result
3Adds 1 or 2 random grievances.
4Adds exactly 1 random grievance.
5 or moreAdds no random grievance.

The morning list can reach 10: three guaranteed scenes, two county continuations, one Chester route, Gwendan’s callback, Goberto’s death announcement, Angelica’s death announcement, and the replay-only Serpent Knight. The direct Gavault shortcut leaves another Knight free for the separate lethal quest needed to build that route. Dulahan from a Cycle 2 Goberto death is an alternative conditional card rather than part of this maximum example. The additions are not all independent: Goberto’s callback, his death announcement, and Dulahan represent mutually exclusive forward histories; Gwendan’s death announcement is pushed to Cycle 5 because Villador already occupies Gwendolen; and Chester variants share one character slot.

The full random candidate pool contains 81 cards: 49 starting cards, 16 Clovermont cards, and 16 newly active Grest cards. If Cycle 3 drew its one possible random card, that exact card has been removed and Cycle 4 chooses from the remaining 80. If an extra delayed scene suppressed the Cycle 3 draw, all 81 remain. The appendix lists the full superset because any one of the older 65 could have appeared in a different playthrough.

Shared-character scheduling prevents them from stacking in Cycle 4. The Paul version actually checks for equipped Equine gear; Paul is the early mount that supplies it.

PromiseExtra requirements attached to the later showdown quests
Muster noble alliesAt least 2 rallied counties, Merchants satisfaction 10, Nobles satisfaction 8, and 400 funds.
Use mystic forcesAt least 2 rallied counties, Scholars satisfaction 12, People satisfaction 10, and 300 funds.
Rally the peopleAt least 2 rallied counties, Merchants satisfaction 8, People satisfaction 14, and 300 funds.

Omniscient Level 1 adds a shortened replay route. Indeed. Let’s stop here. Go back to your castle. does not bluff or skip the ultimatum: it triggers an immediate game over. The apology returns to the same three strategic sets, while accepting the challenge keeps the normal conversation moving.

Welcoming the Nomads gives People +1, Nobles -1, and Kind +1, then schedules their refuge-in-the-Tower follow-up for Cycle 5 if Gwendan remains alive. Sending them into the forest gives People -1, Nobles +1, and Tyrannic +1, then schedules the cold-forest follow-up if Angelica remains alive. A dead required Knight causes that audience to be rejected or removed before Cycle 5.

Villador reacts to whether Gwendan is alive and known. The remembered and Omniscient openings add roleplay branches, including a Tyrannic +1 dismissal and an Audacious +1 lie that also costs Nobles 1 satisfaction. The final decision is always the same: accept Bucolic Diplomacy, or refuse and lose Nobles 1 satisfaction.

The audience also unlocks Villador’s random pack before your final answer. Cycle 4 filling has already happened, so those cards begin in Cycle 5 regardless of whether you accept Bucolic Diplomacy.

County Continuations

The result from Cycle 3 decides which scene appears. Reconciliation can produce both county continuations, but its failed quests cannot create the opposite-county fallback because those fallback cards require the original confrontation to be unplayed.

Epicrates’s early Guards?! Get this man out immediately! answer gives Tyrannic +1 and ends his scene; remembering his identity adds the Omniscient shortcut.

Random Audience Appendix

Cycle 4 draws from the starting, Clovermont, and Grest pools. If the Round Table has more available Knights than open quests, the first random pick is forced from the quest-bearing subset when one is eligible. A second pick, when granted, is weighted normally and cannot reuse the same audience character in that cycle.

Within Grest’s 16 new cards, only Bakery Bats, Harpies Luring Sailors, and Haunted Lighthouse carry the scheduler’s quest-priority flag. Several other Grest grievances can still unlock quests when drawn; they simply are not favored by the shortage check. Every Grest card uses Roland, so a cycle can draw at most one of them.

The Academy Tower card still opens Copy Cats, so card and conversation counts differ. Previously played random cards are removed from the active timeline, but Demon rewinds restore the saved pool and can make a grievance available again.

  • Forge: Repair before lethal or high-damage contracts. Repair prices still rise with each use since the last Round Table: 20, 45, 80, 125 funds, and upward.
  • Map Room: Send any callback you deliberately postponed. The request spends its displayed cost now and schedules the audience later; it does not recruit the Knight immediately.
  • Free time: Up to two affinity or special scenes can be selected, with one eligible shared Knight conversation filling spare capacity. Assignment freezes an involved Knight’s affinity cooldown.
  • Demon Power: Rewinding can rebuild the Cycle 4 card list from a different Cycle 3 result and can add Epicrates. Corruption, Omniscient progress, learned secrets, cumulative deaths, and all-time milestones still persist across timelines.

Skipped earlier scenes can still carry forward when their Knight remains eligible. Their complete choice tables are on the Cycle 1 walkthrough and Cycle 3 walkthrough, so they are not duplicated here.

Round Table and Every New Quest Outcome

The table below covers the 25 quests newly unlockable from Cycle 4’s guaranteed, county, Grest, and Courier content. Quests carried from the old starting and Clovermont random pools keep the same outcomes documented in the Cycle 3 random quest section.

By Cycle 4, Knight levels, chosen stat increases, equipment, meals, armor, deaths, and roster can differ sharply. The quest table therefore gives every requirement, duration, deadline, normal reward, failure consequence, and hidden special trigger first. The result preview at the Round Table reflects your current party after route-dependent modifiers.

Bucolic Diplomacy is the clearest character-specific route: assigning Gwendan triggers 150 funds, Nobles +2, zero damage, and 9 XP instead of its ordinary 5-fund, Nobles +1 success. Courier and random-pool specials are listed in the matrix even when their required Knight, equipment, or statistic cannot yet be reached on a particular timeline.

Alcoholics Eradication is the dangerous exception: assigning Angelica triggers its unexpected outcome before scoring, deals 2-3 damage, gives 16 XP, and makes her leave the Round Table. It replaces all normal rewards. Do not assign her unless that dismissal is intentional.

Solo Baseline Assignment Matrix

This matrix supplies exact comparison points for every Knight who can plausibly join by Cycle 4: Angelica, Goberto, Gwendan, Chester, Dulahan, Brunhilda, and Tarcus. Each row uses that Knight’s base starting statistics, no equipment, no meal, no level-up stat choice, equal People and Nobles satisfaction for Tarcus, and only that one Knight even when the quest asks for more. The missing-party penalty is included. These are baselines, not replacements for the live Round Table preview.

Chester does not have fixed quest statistics: each required stat independently rolls from 0 through 15, so his rows show the exact distribution of all combinations. Angelica’s Fortunate tier change, Gwendan’s In Debt funds reduction, Brunhilda’s Idol reward, and Tarcus’s satisfaction-sensitive Nobility Primes and Nobles Defender rolls are all shown rather than averaged away.

Cycle 4 End State

Cycle 4 ends at the first Cycle 5 Tower View. The Nomad choice normally schedules one of two Cycle 5 follow-ups, but the Tower route needs living Gwendan and the forest route needs living Angelica. County decisions, quest outcomes, callbacks, deaths, and any Chester or Dulahan postponement can add more. A Goberto death during Cycle 4 schedules Berta for Cycle 5 and Dulahan no earlier than Cycle 6.

For the safest forward route, accept the Nomads and Villador quest, recruit any returning Knight you intend to keep, use Gwendan for Bucolic Diplomacy, and do not overload the open quest list before the Courier check. Treat the Dragon Knight promise as a four-cycle plan rather than an immediate reward: the satisfaction and funds thresholds are the first long-term build target the game asks you to choose explicitly.
