Machinefall’s technology tree contains 105 player-facing progression steps. Most technologies become active first and then give you an objective; finishing that objective makes the next connected technologies available.

This guide lists every main-game technology in progression order and shows the branches each one opens. Hidden story transitions and tutorial-only steps are omitted. For exact structure costs, see the Buildings and Construction Costs guide. For soldier, equipment, and vehicle details, see the Units, Vehicles, and Equipment guide.

How Technology Progress Works

You begin with one active-objective slot. The limit rises to two after 10 technologies have been activated, three after 30, and four after 60. Activating an era marker such as Stone age or Iron age completes it immediately because era markers do not have separate objectives.

A technology with several incoming branches becomes available only after every visible predecessor is active and complete. This makes convergence points such as Stone age, City hall, Destroy hive, and Space age the main progression gates. The objective list appears in the upper-right corner of the screen; hover over an objective there to read its full instructions.

The objective listed for a technology tracks progress through that active node. It is not an extra resource cost, and it should not be read as something that always happens before the technology appears.

Major Convergence Gates

The following technologies have more than one visible predecessor. Complete every entry in the right column before the gate can be activated.

Practical Objective Notes

Use your limited objective slots on tasks that match what your settlement is already doing. Early construction, population, and equipment goals often progress together, while transport and expansion objectives may require you to prepare a specific vehicle or route before activating the node.

For Supplying bandages and Supplying quivers, start with an empty cart and send it to a storage holding the required supply. Routes requires two depots, while Naval routes requires two ports. Expand continent is more demanding than an ordinary outpost: the new colony must be at least one quarter of the globe away.

The soldier promotion objectives use 100 experience for a recruit to become a veteran and 300 experience for a veteran to become an elite. The Ultimate warrior objective requires an elite equipped with both elite armor and a grenade launcher.

For the nuclear branch, Load the nuke specifically asks you to place a nuke on a zeppelin. The later launch-pad objective accepts a zeppelin or truck carrying the nuke. Keep fighting is another convergence gate, so both Detonate the nuke and Launch nuclear missile must be completed before that step opens.

When a branch appears stalled, check the convergence table before repeating the current objective. In most cases, another incoming branch is still incomplete.
